We were founded in 1999, with the goal of providing the highest quality musical instruction to people of all ages and abilities.  Our primary focus is to have fun, while broadening students’ creative capacity and enjoyment of music. We also set goals in all of our programs and hold optional public performances to challenge students and give them a sense of accomplishment.  Instruction is currently offered for piano, violin, Suzuki violin, voice, viola, guitar, flute, clarinet, bassoon and drums. Lessons are available at our studio or, for some instruments, in-home.

Musical Expressions also provides quality musical entertainment for weddings, receptions, and any formal or informal gathering in the Washington, D.C. and Baltimore metropolitan areas.  We specialize in small chamber ensembles featuring strings, piano, woodwinds, and harp, and can accommodate larger and more diverse ensembles.  We also offer a full-size jazz swing orchestra.  Our musicians include members of major orchestras in the D.C. and Baltimore areas, experienced freelancers, and graduates of established music schools around the world.  We will be happy to provide a demo cd upon request.

This site will provide you with information on how to sign up for music lessons and where to purchase or rent musical instruments (as well as how to decide which is best for you).   You can meet our wonderful teachers, download registration forms, and see our studio and the beautiful Strathmore Mansion where we hold our winter student recital.

In addition, you can fill out our questionnaire for providing musical entertainment for your special event.   In the near future, we will be adding sample sound files of available types of music.
