Musical Expressions knows how important your special event is. Whether you are planning an intimate wedding or a large corporate function, the right musical addition can make your special event an extraordinary occasion.   We will be happy to provide a demo cd upon request.

Musical Expressions can provide music for the following types of events:

Classical Chamber Ensembles

We currently offer a variety of small chamber ensembles, and can provide the following combinations of instruments:

• Piano solo
• String quartet, trio, duo, or violin solo
• Flute trio (flute, violin and cello)
• Flute and harp
• Harp solo
• Woodwind quintet, trio

Other configurations are of course possible. Please call to inquire and we will work to meet your requirements. Repertoire ranges from Baroque and Classical, such as Bach’s Air on a G String and Mozart’s Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, to contemporary show tunes and movie soundtracks such as Titanic and The Sound of Music. Our musicians are of the highest quality, and include members of major orchestras and regional ensembles in the greater Washington D.C./Baltimore area. They are classically-trained graduates of the country’s most prestigious conservatories, and some of the area’s most experienced and talented performers.

Jazz Band

Musical Expressions contracts with the Kaleidoscope Orchestra, which has specialized in traditional big band dance and swing music in the D.C. area since 1979. With a repertoire list that includes works by the giants of jazz and swing, the band is perfect for a celebratory concert setting or as a dance background. Repertoire includes music of:

• Frank Sinatra
• Glenn Miller
• Duke Ellington
• George Gershwin
• Count Basie
• Stan Kenton
• And many others!

Kaleidoscope is the perfect background for dancing or traditional swing jazz concert music.

We also contract smaller jazz ensembles.

We now offer a DJ specializing in oldies and doubling as an Elvis impersonator!

Musical Expressions will soon be offering additional styles of musical entertainment including rock and top 40 bands and ethnic ensembles. Please check back for more information.
